The fifth urban graffiti and art show – Full Colors – will be held on 16 and 17 October. And it is back in Plaça Josep Tarradellas, the space where the festival originated. Some 30 graffiti artists from Barcelona, Lleida, Alacant and València will be back to change the image of this public space by creating 10 new murals. The confirmed artists are: Urih, Kets, Mala, CAyn, Baie, Axia (Petados Crew), Teck, Idok, Abex, Silex (també locals), Sater, Yubia, Phen, Kram, Uriginal, Kapi, Sendys, Tzack, Lily, Miedo, Folk, Conse, Nels, Pako, Mer, Turkesa, Rosaroseyo, Megui and Jose Luis GNR.

Full Colors is framed within the COLORS proposal, which believes that art and artistic expression are a primordial way in which to transform and improve public spaces and create community. ‘Full Colors had already been pursuing these objectives five years ago, when the festival started. Now, the initiative is stronger in the context of a larger project that seeks to claim colour as part of Rubí’s identity,’ explained Mayor Ana María Martínez Martínez.

Once again this year, the graffiti artists themselves will choose the colours and topics for their creations, loyal to the essence of graffiti as a form of artistic expression.

The festival is an initiative by the local graffiti organisation Petados Crew, which collaborates with La Skateboarding Rubí and Associació Juvenil Musical La SoniK. The skateboarders’ entity is organising a skateboarding championship and La SoniK is in charge of the music at the festival, serving up a selection of local DJs. This year, the edRa Art & Design School will be added to the Full Colors poster. It has created the proposal Gargots Creatius (Creative Scribbling), a mural covered in scribbles in which adults and kids will have to find recognisable shapes and colour them in. The Councilwoman for Youth, Annabel Cuesta Fabre, thanks ‘local entities for their assistance in promoting Full Colors and, once again, edRa’s readiness to join any initiative done by the city based on art and creativity’.

The proposal is rounded out with two graffiti walking routes that will start in Plaça Doctor Pearson and will end at Plaça Josep Tarradellas. All parallel activities are open to one and all simply by signing up in advance at the space, except for the two graffiti routes, for which you have to book your place at www.rubijove.cat.
